I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the official website of the West Salem Police Department. My goal is to make this website as useful as possible to everyone that visits. One of my goals as your Chief of Police is to constantly evaluate if the services my staff and I provide could be improved in any way. Since my department is dependent upon your hard earned tax dollars to provide these services, it is my responsibility to constantly search for ways to provide our services more efficiently. I believe the creation of our website is a wonderful and efficient way to provide access to our department and some of our many services, 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week. This site will provide much of the information or resources people seek, but allowing them to seek it on their own time schedule.

I believe, as a leader in our community, there are two vital skills required to be effective and successful. They are; good listening and good communication skills. It has always been my goal, and will continue to be, with my staff and with citizens I come in contact with everyday, to provide an environment where people feel comfortable talking with me or my staff. I believe it is important that citizens walk away feeling their comments, suggestions or complaints were genuinely heard and addressed when possible.

With that being said, I welcome any comments, suggestions or constructive criticisms about our website, my department or the services we provide. Our primary goal is to protect the safety of all citizens in our community. We also strive to provide countless other services everyday to our citizens. We realize we may not always be the person you’d like to see, but in good times or bad, we take pride in being fair, honest, trustworthy, brave, and courteous. We appreciate our communities past support and look forward to building upon new and/or existing relationships.

Free while supplies last and a child or adult needs to be present so we can properly fit the helmet.
